Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Christ is Alive. He is Risen. The Easter celebration service might be one that goes down in the history of our church. It was so well received we are exploring trying to do more of services this way so that all who would like to participate can. Who knows, this might even become a regular summertime event. When the Spirit is at work even the sky isn’t the limit.
As much as we would love to do this each week it is not likely the weather would cooperate. However, the session and I will be exploring ways to include everyone possible. For this week the service will be held like those before Easter. We will be live streaming it to Facebook and uploading a recording to YouTube shortly after the service ends.
As this continues on, we may find ourselves feeling weary, saddened, and missing the much-needed fellowship. I would remind us of what the words of Jesus when the weariness begins feel heavy. In Matthew 11:28 Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Let us come to Jesus with our weariness and burdens for we can rest in His promise and assurance to comfort us. I look forward to the day when we can once again fellowship together, but for now I find comfort in knowing we are still together in Spirit even if not in body. Christ is truly alive in us. May we always remember this as we continue to care for one another in new ways.
