January 27th Letter from the Pastor

Shared by ESPC

Letter to Congregation 01-27-2021

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

This week has been an interesting one for me to say the least. In a way it felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster ride. I recognize that we all have these sorts of periods where we are on emotional roller coasters because God created humans as feeling creatures. The Apostle Paul shares a wonderful point to remember when we are experiencing times where our emotions are up and down. He says it simply “For we walk by faith not by sight.” (1 Corith 5:7) It reminds us that our faith is built on trusting in the Lord who loves us despite our feelings in the moment. We may be emotionally reacting to what transpires around us, but we trust in a Lord who is constant even if we can’t see a physical representation. I love recalling that our relationship with our Maker is based on trust, our faith, and dependence on our constant Christ. It reminds me that God’s love is constant whether I am emotionally present to it or not.

To give back to God for God’s constant love we join in times of worship. This week we return to our in-person hybrid worship services. This means we continue with the sanctuary being open but once it reaches capacity overflow rooms are available to view the service. One can also join live remotely by going to our YouTube or Facebook page. The bulletins and hymnals continue to be available on our website. Additionally, this week immediately following the service will be the congregational meeting. If you would like to join us remotely via zoom and have not already received that information, please email the church and we will get you all the necessary information. I look forward to worshiping the constant God who we put our trust in with you this Sunday.

In His peace,

Pastor Nicki
