Letter to Congregation 5-20-2020
May 20, 2020
Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,
In the gospel of Mark, we see Jesus tell his disciples to “Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while.” Jesus himself often retreated to rest in silent prayer. He knew the importance of rest to rejuvenate and be our best selves in serving God. During my devotionals and prayer times God has revealed to me that I need some rest and rejuvenation. As a result, I will be taking off the second half of this week. Fortunately, for you I have found a wonderful fill in for the virtual service this week. I hope you can access the live stream or watch later to see our beloved Rev. Freeborn lead this week’s service. He and others have heard of all the great things this congregation has been doing to be the voice and hands of God for our community. I encourage you to get rest too, so we can continue doing God’s work together.
As I mentioned would happen, this week the session worked on a plan to safely reopen our church when the way be clear, meaning, when we reach yellow status in Gov. Wolf’s plans. However, given the current restrictions we are continuing to live stream on Facebook and YouTube Live. Please bear with us as we continue to upgrade and learn new technology. We also have the option of calling in via Zoom call. Remember, the church website has been updated to make finding things a little easier. Additionally, don’t forget to take advantage of the opportunity to share prayer requests and assistance requests on our website. All requests are confidential unless the desire is expressed for them to be shared. Links and information are provided below.

I look forward to being back with you the following week for Pentecost which pending good weather will likely be a drive-in service. Pray for good weather and continue being the voice and hands of God, as I know you will.
In His Peace,
Pastor Nicki
