August 4th Letter from Pastor Nicki

Shared by ESPC

Letter to Congregation 08-04-2021

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I am going to go out on a limb and share that I believe I am not the only one to experience what I will refer to as, eye-opening moments. I think we all have had these moments in our lives that change the way we think or act. In His ministry, Jesus led many people to have these eye-opening moments and not just the physically blind He healed. The Psalmist says it well “Open my eyes that I may see the wonderful things in your law” (Psalm 119:18) It is easy to go about our daily lives with our eyes kept shut to what is around us, but to know God more is to actively keep our eyes opened for what God may want to reveal to us next. In this season of transition from pandemic life to this new normal, it is important we keep our eyes opened to see where God desires us to be. One never knows when one of the eye-opening moments will come, but if we keep our eyes closed, we will surely miss opportunities to see things new.

One way we keep ourselves open to see God’s wonderful work, is to gather for worship. We continue this week in our hybrid worship phase 4. As we continue getting used to this new hybrid form of worship that will continue beyond this season of life, may we remind ourselves to be like the psalmist and ask God to open our eyes to the ways God is changing us and those around us to live into God’s kingdom ways. I would also remind you we love each other by keeping our eyes open to their perspectives and beliefs. May we love each other well by keeping our eyes open to the needs of each other. I hope you can join us this week and every week in body or in spirit to praise our amazing God.

In His Peace,
Pastor Nicki
