4th Sunday in Advent 12-20-2020
Pastor Letter 12/16/20
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
As 2020 begins to wind down, I am sure many of us are happy to see it behind us. This past year has been interesting and challenging, yet our congregation has adapted well. As I have said before, we have not let our mission to be the hands and voice of God and the beacon on a hill go to the wayside because of all that occurred in 2020. Instead, we adapted, changed, rediscovered, redefined and did many of our usual missions in different adapted ways and even began new ones. This coming year will hopefully be less chaotic and more stable, but whether it is or not, one thing we have learned is, that we can continue to follow God’s call on this church no matter what. As we near the end of this year, I am grateful for all that this congregation has done and continues to do, but just because the year 2020 will be behind us, does not mean our mission is complete. The new year will bring new ministries and missions while continuing traditional ones. Those ministries will continue to need to be funded. If you feel God calling you to give a special offering to see 2020 off and get us prepared for 2021, I invite you to do so by using any of the many ways provided. *
Before we can bring in 2021, we still have some redefining and rediscovering to do this Advent and Christmas season. This Sunday is one of those opportunities to do so by worshiping in our hybrid worship service. Again, I would like to remind us that out of love we keep safe distances, wear masks, we worship from home if we our comfortable with that and we follow guidelines for maximum capacity in sanctuary and overflow areas. We have some special things planned for the coming worship services so we hope you can join us in worshiping and giving to God of ourselves through worship as we continue redefining and rediscovering the traditional Advent themes.
In Christ Peace,
Pastor Nicki
