March 24th Letter from the Pastor

Shared by ESPC

Letter to Congregation 03-24-2021

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

One of the things I gleaned from my family vacation was that, no matter what happens, being with and enjoying time with family is a way I see God’s joy at work. We are created to live in community and enjoy one another. I am so grateful to be back with my church family, which loves and cares for each other, and enjoys being together. I was blessed to be able to view the guest pastors on our YouTube page and hear what a welcoming congregation you were. I am also grateful to be back with you, especially this week, as we prepare for Holy week, which begins this Sunday with Palm/Passion Sunday and concludes with Resurrection celebrations on Easter Sunday. We, again, have several opportunities to continue re-orienting ourselves to God. I pray that the spiritual practices you committed to have been fruitful. This week we will be having our third of four reflection times on the weekly Lenten devotionals on Wednesday, March 24. The zoom meeting information for that is below.

Additionally, we will be having an opportunity to worship together and enjoy each other as we remember both the Palm and Passion stories this Sunday for our continued in-person hybrid worship. I would invite you to join us in worship, this Sunday, as we, once again, experience an interactive scripture reading where voices both near and far can participate and feel the emotions the scriptures make come alive. I look forward to hearing the reflections on the many spiritual practices and Lenten devotionals, as well as worshiping with you again this Sunday. May we continue with our spiritual practices this Lent and beyond as we reflect on the last days of Jesus’ life on earth.

In His Peace,

Pastor Nicki
