May 27th Letter from the Pastor

Letter to Congregation 05-27-2020

May 27, 2020

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I’m always excited when I get to announce we will be having a parking lot service. This is made possible through the efforts and donations by many people. We know it is not the same as being in regular worship, but it does give us an opportunity to be together in a different and fun way. This Sunday is a celebration Sunday and the third main holiday of the Christian calendar, Pentecost. I hope you will come celebrate together the moment in which we recognize the Holy Spirit’s work beginning in the people who first began gathering to follow Jesus. Wear red if you have it. Decorate your vehicle. Just plain old have some fun to come and celebrate the Holy Spirit who descended onto the believers many years ago and continues to be active among us.

For those who would like to remain home the service will still be live streamed in the formats previously offered. We will be celebrating communion and so I would invite you to do the same as previously. I would invite you to gather your communion elements beforehand and bring them to wherever you will be worshiping be it in your space at home or in your car in the parking lot. For those of you who may have missed it I invite you to gather the “bread” which can be a slice of ordinary bread, a roll, cracker, cookie, goldfish cracker, etc. anything will do. Don’t feel the need to go out and purchase anything, just use whatever food item you have on hand. Also, gather the “fruit of the vine” which can be juice, wine, water, or any beverage you have on hand.

I look forward to celebrating with you all that the Spirit is and does, has done and continues to do!

In Christ Peace,

Pastor Nicki
