September 1st Letter from Pastor Nicki

Shared by ESPC

Letter to Congregation 09-01-2021

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Some of us, like myself, prefer to have an advanced information and plan before doing anything. I have had numerous conversations with many of you, on how much of a struggle it is when things are done or must change at last minute. Needless to say, living in this day and age means living in a time where everything has to be fluid and ready to change plans if need be. As you will read and hear in the coming weeks, we are moving forward with programs that, planning, must continue being fluid. We have hoped for dates and programing, but all these things are subject to change. If you were able to join us for worship this Sunday; you will have heard that, to get through constant change, means we must rely on God’s unchanging characteristics of love, patience and promised peaceful presence which always remain.

Relying on God’s unchanging ways, will fill us with joy that should inspire us to worship this wonderful, ever-present God. This Sunday, we continue in our phase 4 hybrid abridged service. As we gather together this week, we are invited to also participate in the Lord’s Supper. We will continue, as we have been, by asking you to bring along your communion elements to whatever worship space you find yourself. This need not be anything fancy, just whatever drink and food you have on hand. If you are joining us in person, and forget your communion elements, rest assured because we have self-contained communion elements available. As we continue moving forward in these fluid times, may we do so while worshiping a God whose love, patience and promised peaceful presence remains yesterday, today and forever.

In His Peace,
Pastor Nicki
